Dear Students and Faculty,

Web browsers continue to evolve and, as a result, discontinue support for outdated plugins that create potential security vulnerabilities.  Firefox is planning to join Chrome and Microsoft EDGE by discontinuing support for NPAPI plugins at the end of 2016.  Plugins that utilize the NPAPI architecture include Flash, Java, and Silverlight, among others.

Engage contains a subset of activities that include screen recording capabilities.  Beginning with the 2017 Spring term, the built-in screen recording functionality will no longer be supported in Engage.  In place of the built-in capabilities, we are recommending that Engage users take advantage of screen recording applications that are native to their operating systems.  You will find a link below to documentation that contains instructions for how to use recommended screen recording applications, for MacOS and Windows, along with directions for how to upload the screen recordings in Engage.  This document will also be added to the Engage support documentation for your future reference.

We look forward to serving you in the new year.  Happy Holidays!

The Engage Team
